Introduction for you to nlp

Introdution to NLP.
Neuro-Linguistic-Programming this alone sounds confusing before we even get any further. One of the first lessons I learnt on my introdution to NLP was that confusion is good!!! How can confusion be good? Confusion is the start of learning without confusion you either have complete knowledge in the field or just the very basics.
For example: How many of you know how to write even just the alphabet? As you are reading this I pre-suppose that we all do. Yet I will also bet that before we were shown how to write the alphabet we were confused as to how to and never thought it possible... Now we are able to write the alphabet without even thinking about it?!?
So we moved from the state of being confused to writing the alphabet to being able to write the alphabet now without even our concisous mind being aware of it.
Therefore we "learnt" how to do it.
How did we learn it?
We were "taught" it.
We "modelled" someone else showing us.
NLP you will be pleased to learn is as easy as learning your ABC...
Easily and effortlessly...
This introduction to nlp hopefully will ease some of the confusion you have on this wonderful subject. I myself left high school never attended college so you can guess that my "educational" marks are not the best, yet I am certified as a practioner of NLP. This ladies and gentleman if you take the challenge will not only benefit your life yet you will also have the ability to help others on this flight of life.
You Can Not "Not" Communicate
Communication is one of the abilities that human beings have above all else. Even if one is being silent that very silence will be their communication to you. Indeed even this introduction to nlp is one of my first communications to you.
NLP can be used in vast areas of life from self development right through the career/life spectrum too even helping others on their flight of life.
Lets break down the letters of NLP.
- N = Neuro
The nervous system (mind) through which our life runs. This is our "map" of the world. How we REPRESENT the world. We have five senses. Those being:-- Auditory (Hearing)
- Kinaesthetic (Touch/Feel)
- Visual (Pictures)
- Olfactory (Smell)
- Gustatory (Taste)
- L = Linguistic
Language and other non-verbal communication systems/channels through which our neural REPRESENTATIONS are coded, ordered and given meaning. These include all the above as well as words. Yes even our little voice in our head that we refer to as "self-talk". The way we structure our words and look at others structure of words is possibly one of the most important benefits in learning NLP. As well as using the correct words. - P = Programming
The way that our brain is programmed to run through our daily/life tasks. "Tasks" are in each and every aspect of our life. For example:- - Is there a food you eat but aware of the knowledge that it is bad for you?
This is a task. - Do you smoke? Smoking is a task.
- Ever fallen in love? Yes love is a task.
- Wash in the morning? Washing is a task.
- Breathe? Yes this is a task our "unconcious mind" takes care of.
Task is a statement of fact that our brains...our centre of our universe is bombarded with tasks 24 hours a day. It also relies on this tasking in order to survive. 24 hours you say?
You dream I say... :)
Neurons motorway. Cars transportaton of information.
Easy Example of NLP at work.
I met with up with a friend of mine. She was not in a good mood. Quite snappy one would say to say the least...But me ok so alls good....The conversation went like this...
Friend "I got out of the wrong side of bed today so its a bad day!!!"
Myself: "OK so because you got out of the wrong side....what happened?"
Friend. "Well I was late for work and my boss shouted at me and threatened me with the sack for timekeeping"
Myself. "So because you got of bed the wrong side you were late for work, and this was the first time you were late?"
Friend "No I have been late several times before"
Myself. "And each time you were late you got out of the wrong side of bed?"
Friend. "No... I mean like as well as my boss shouted at me but they dont know I was involved in a small traffic accident"
Myself. "Ahhh so because you got up on the wrong side of bed this also led to a traffic accident and you therefore did not tell your boss of accident?"
Friend "Well yeah but no well yeah.... Oh shutup!!! (she was laughing) I know what you are saying that getting up
on the wrong side of bed does not lead to a bad day!!!"
Glad to
report that she approached her boss the next day, apologised for her
time keeping and also explained the traffic accident.
They is still employed :-)
Just this simple conversation has nlp at work. By asking the question to my friend that she had a bad day just because she got out of the wrong side of bed. Made her see this was her excuse for the days events. She had forgotten all about her other time keeping....the crash not even her fault.
Simple lesson from this introduction to nlp.
Dont live by excuses in your lives but to be at cause with how your life leads.
- CAUSE = Results and Personal Power Eg:- I kept job beCAUSE I spoke to my boss.
- EXCUSE = Lack of results and lack of power. Eg:- I lost my job as I got out the wrong side of bed.
Just think if my friend had not explained the crash to her boss she may have been fired. Her excuse for losing a job...."I got out the wrong side of bed"
Bit silly you wouid agree?
